"Mommy's secret pal loves me!"  Adaira loved her froggie slippers from my secret pal.  She was mesmerized with them, then she tried to eat them, then she got so excited she fell right over.  (giggle)  We had lots of fun.

Sunday, November 2, 2008--Christening

"We are going to stand up in front of the church?!  They are going to pour water all over my head?!  You've got to be kidding me?!"

"OK...I guess that wasn't so bad."

Our princess was so slippery in her big bundle of pretty fluffiness.  We did manage to get through the ceremony without dropping her.  Phew!

 October 31, 2008

A princess in her chariot strolling through Helen, Georgia.  We had her home before midnight so she wouldn't turn into a pumpkin.

I am ready to go trick-or-treating!

She was getting excited about her sparkly bat socks and her "I love my mummy" t-shirt.

September 11--Six Months Old

"Hey guys."

It is hard to believe she was 3 lbs and 7 oz at one point.  Just look at those thighs!  God bless them!  : )

Precious little chins...

July 4--Four Months Old

All smiles...

Miss Mischief!

April 27--8 Weeks Old

April 27--8 weeks old--Doesn't she look like an angel?  Her eyes are so blue and beautiful!

April 27--"Don't these people have enough pictures of me already?!"

April 18--The following pictures were taken on the day that Adaira was supposed to be born.  Happy UN-Birthday!  At a doctor appointment that morning, she weighed 7 lbs and a 1/2 an ounce.

Here are some pictures of our first week at home...

Sleeping Beauty

April 6--We decided to go on a Sunday afternoon walk.  Adaira loved it.  She stayed awake and looked around for the whole 1 1/2 miles.

April 1--"I love my cousin Kaitlin.  I wanted to come early so I wouldn't miss Kaitlin's and Mommy's birthdays."

April 1--This is her hospital picture.  It was taken the morning she was coming home with us.  She weighed 4 lbs and 15 oz.

March 7--Adaira spent time “tanning” under a bili-light today due to a slight case of jaundice.  Doesn't it look like she was laying in a little tanning bed?  She seemed to be enjoying herself.

This picture shows her whole set-up.  I have always called them incubators, but evidently the correct term is isolette.  We have been learning a lot of new terminology lately!  Seth calls it her "condo."

Just hanging out and wondering why these two crazy people keep sticking a flashing box in my face...

"Hey there!" --The little brown thing on her mouth is the tape that holds her feeding tube in.  The nurses have to double tape it because she likes to pull it out.  She also likes to pull at her ears and nose and gauge at her eyeballs.  She is a funny little creature.  Her right arm is a bit puffy in this picture because her IV went bad.  She now has two IVs in her little head because they couldn't find any good veins in her arms.   ( She gets this from her Mommy.)  It was pretty traumatic for us to see, but she doesn't seem to mind.

March 6--One last visit before going home without her.  I didn't cry...until I got to the parking lot.

March 4--FINALLY!  Mommy sees me after 50 hours of waiting.

March 4--Adaira with Mommy's puffy hand

March 4--Getting some rest...The leads (wires) you see check her heart, oxygen level, and respiratory rate.  She also has an IV that gives her fluids.  The little white tube in her mouth is for feeding.

March 2--The thing on her nose is called a CPAP.  It helped stimulate her lungs and helped her to breathe.  She forgets to breathe sometimes but corrects herself pretty quickly on her own.  She wasn't a happy camper in this picture.  I think she wanted her mommy...but the doctors had me tied to my bed down the hall.  : (  It was hard to understand, but now I realize I was still pretty sick, too.
